Vibrant, bold, colourful,loose and sometimes seductive, capturing the beauty, mystery and uniqueness of all organic life. Petra?s paintings range from characteristic, realistic African wildlife, bold, colourful ocean creatures to textured, decorative abstracts and sexy women. ?I try to find that special something in my subject matter and explore it through colour and form. I love playing with colour and experimenting with different techniques and mediums. Printmaking is another big passion of mine? I especially like the spontaneity of monoprints to express the seductiveness of women with a burlesque feeling. Each print is a surprise?? Born and educated in Cologne, Germany, Petra originally trained in printed textile design. She worked as a textile designer in studios throughout Europe, as well as New Zealand and Australia. Petra has been has been painting professionally since 2003.
