Katsu Miura was born in Hiroshima, Japan.
Katsu later graduated from university with a degree in Architecture and participated in art courses and silk screen printing courses. He worked in an architectural office for some time before later establishing his own (architectural) company in Osaka.
Working in this capacity for several years, Katsu thought to further his art education and gain experience in Europe, and traveled in many countries to continue his passion for painting. He mixed with many different artists greatly expanding his ideas and technique.
Katsu traveled to Australia in 1983, where he joined other artists in painting a mural for the 10th Anniversary of the Sydney Opera House. In 2005 he was employed by the North Sydney Community Centre to organise an art exhibition.
Katsu's painting style has changed over the years from Impressionism to Abstract, of which he has painted many of his varied ideas.
Today, Katsu resides in Sydney where he continues his art, and works with different mediums, textures and designs. After years experimenting with many art forms, he now feels he identifies with his love of expressing Space-Depth in his art, which he incorporates in his own unique style.
