Gallery 26 Milsons Point is Steve's concept, and shows his love for art and supporting artists.
Steve is a multi-skilled environmental artist who uses mostly recycled materials in his works, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital media and outdoor terra forming utilizing colour, fragrance and water. Having attained an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts, he is still studying at Western Sydney Institute Kingswood, feeding his passions for the arts. With numerous group exhibitions and prize shows under his belt, Steve McLaren has been described as "half man, half tornado" and is an influential force to be reckoned with on the Sydney art scene.

In 2007, Steve's work was hung in the National Gallery in Canberra, and he was a short listed finalist in the National Australian Indigenous Reconciliation Art Awards. Steve was also responsible for organizing and presenting the highly successful "About a Woman" exhibition which brought together 75 women from around Sydney to exhibit a wide range of artworks. "About a Woman" was one of the biggest independent art exhibitions in Sydney in 20 years, with over 300 people attending the opening night alone.
